Before First Light

The night is your window to prepare. Dawn is your only mercy.

Waves of enemies push down the road toward your base every night. Between assaults, you've got one build phase to get ready, after that, it's just you, your gun, and whatever defenses you managed to put up.

Build Phase: Each round, choose 2 of 5 randomly offered upgrades: boost your own health, weapon damage, fire rate, or speed. Place a new turret at one of the map's fixed defensive spots . Pick wisely, you don't get a second round to fix a bad call.

Fight Phase: Grab your gun and hold the line yourself, or let your turrets do the work. Melee enemies will barrel straight for the base, ranged enemies will pepper it from a distance, and either will turn on you if you get in their way. Watch the sky as first light breaks over the course of the fight, the world gets brighter and if you've earned the Blessing of First Light, so does your firepower, as enemies start taking burn damage the moment the sun peaks.

Controls WASD to move, mouse to look, left-click to fire, ESC to pause (with volume controls if the mix isn't to your taste).
